Mental Health Therapist
I believe the relationship between a therapist and a client is one of the most important elements of a client's success. Often more so than any specific modality. Therapy can be a wonderful tool for the variety of life challenges we all face, and each client presents with unique needs. Therapy should be tailored accordingly. I work best with clients navigating trauma and moral injury, including first responders working through the toll their careers have or have had on their lives. I also work with those who want to change violent or aggressive behaviors, or address problematic sexual behaviors, but aren't sure where to start. I want to help clients build emotional regulation skills and find more enjoyment in the present moment.
I'm committed to honoring and cultivating the mind-body connection, and I primarily draw on cognitive behavioral interventions, mindfulness, and solution-focused approaches, adapting as needed, since no single technique fits every client's goals. Clients often tell me I'm easy to talk to and that I listen well. Above all, this is your time, not mine, and I'm dedicated to making sure it feels that way.
"The very making of an appointment with a total stranger to deal with the greatest intimacies and vulnerabilities of one's life is an act of profound faith." — Diana Fosha
It takes courage to reach out and ask for help. My goal is to make that process feel as comfortable as possible.
